Midwest-camp-'15-final-concert

This will be Village Harmony’s fifth teen summer camp in the Midwest. Rehearsal week this year will be split between Ronora Lodge in Watervleit, MI and Into the Woods Retreat in West Olive, MI.

Veteran camp leader Val Mindel will bring her appealing mix of traditional Appalachian songs,  gospel songs and instrumental arrangements.

Village Harmony alumnus Lysander Jaffe will teach a brilliant set of traditional songs from Albania and Kosovo, and will lead our instrumentalists in a set of exciting Balkan band pieces.

Rounding out this session’s directing staff will be the talented and delightful Nadia Tarnawsky, who will bring musical gems from her vast repertoire of songs from Ukraine and the Balkans.

Following the rehearsal period the group will go on a 10-stop performance tour that will include stops in Michigan, Indiana, Illinois and Ohio, with a final concert in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Chicago.

As always, substantial financial aid is available for this camp for those who need a reduced tuition in order to attend.
